Quality Assurance Engineer

Location: Montreal, Quebec

Permanent position (full-time)

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES:

Under the supervision of the Director of Operations, as a Quality Assurance Engineer you will be on the front line in Ranger Design’s efforts to continue to deliver world class products to our customers.  Located in our Montreal, QC manufacturing facility, you will be responsible for the following:

Product Quality Planning: 

• Collaborate with the product development team to understand the product’s design, specifications, and intended use. 
• Participate in the early stages of product development to provide input on design for manufacturability and quality considerations.

Quality Standards and Procedures: 

• Establish clear quality standards, acceptance criteria, and inspection procedures based on industry regulations, customer specifications, and internal quality guidelines. 

Documentation and Reporting: 

• Maintain accurate and comprehensive quality records, including inspection reports, non-conformances, and corrective actions. 
• Generate regular reports on quality performance, highlighting trends, and recommending measures to address any recurring issues.

Testing and Validation: 

• Develop and execute test plans and procedures to verify product performance, reliability, and durability. 
• Use various testing methods and equipment to validate product functionality and adherence to specifications.

Process Improvement: 

• Continuously evaluate manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement and efficiency gains, including 8D analysis. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement corrective / preventive actions, including 6 sigma workshops aiming to enhance product quality and streamline production workflows.  

Compliance and Standards: 

• Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety guidelines, and quality management system standards. 
• Stay up-to-date with relevant quality assurance practices, industry advancements, and best practices.

Non-Conformance Management: 

• When defects or non-conforming products are identified either internally or from customers, work with the manufacturing team to isolate the affected products, determine the root cause of the issues, and implement corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.

Training and Education: 

• Provide training and support to manufacturing and operations teams on quality assurance principles, methodologies, and best practices. 
• Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS :

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field
• Proven experience as a Quality Assurance Engineer or similar role in a manufacturing environment
• In-depth knowledge of quality assurance methodologies, tools, and best practices
• Familiarity with quality management systems and regulatory requirements
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities effectively
• Demonstrate effective collaboration with various departments, promoting a culture of quality and continuous improvement throughout the organization
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and quality control methods
• Bilingual (Oral and written) – Asset
